Infrastructure Engineer 

Must have strong Linux experience.

Our world leading, global IT services client based across the UK is currently seeking dynamic, hands-on and technically astute Infrastructure Engineer with good Linux skills (including scripting), who is keen to be developed into the DevOps environment.

The successful Infrastructure Engineer (with strong Linux skills) must have a proven track record building, installing, supporting (3rd line) and administration a variety of infrastructure services (Virtualisation Storage, Servers, VDI and Networking etc).

Due to the secure nature of this work, all candidates must be British Nationals and already hold or be eligible to hold UK Security Clearance to DV level.

Most of the work will be project based; some projects focus on new client requirements to design and build virtualised environments, and thereafter to provide a ‘business as usual’ service. Others focus on Secure Applications Management Services developed for government clients.

As many of the following technical skills is needed:

· Linux – must have

· Virtualisation (VMWare ESXi / vCenter 6+ / Hyper-V etc)

· Storage (SAN / Nas / Das / NFS / CIFS / Block)

· Virtualisation Storage, VDI and Networking

· Citrix VDI (Virtual desktop infrastructure)

· Scripting (Puppet, PowerShell, Bash, Korn, Perl, Python, JavaScript etc)

· Networking (Routes, Switches, Firewalls, DNS etc

· Databases (SQL / Oracle) – bonus

As Infrastructure Engineer, you will be troubleshooting and investigating incident resolution across a large variety of technologies supporting a large number of systems.

You will be working in an ITIL environment and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
